Forms and Styles of tai chi

At Mings Martial Arts we offer the following styles or forms of tai chi:

The Yang Style Short Form

The Short Form is the shortened version of the yang style Long Form (108).  It is summarized and shorter, yet the form kept the essence of the traditional long form, which was too lengthy for the average person to grasp, with its 108 moves.

The short form is popular all over the globe, from Asia to the west.

How Tai Chi can be useful in Business and…

Sifu Leo Low Ming was a guest on the Let’s Talk Possibility show and shared about the many benefits of Tai Chi:

“Tai Chi is not only a slow form of martial arts, it is also an art of inner peace.

The sequence of movements making up the forms are a body, mind and spiritual meditative practice which has many benefits.

The principles experienced when practicing Taiji Chuan have significant applications in the business world and for leaders.

Telana talks with Sifu Leo Low Ming about the body, mind and spiritual benefits of tai chi and how 20 minutes of this holistic practice a day can improve workplace productivity.”

Karate

Our Venue for Karate Lessons in Parkview, Johannesburg

We offer Kobujutsu Karate lessons at both Parkview Junior School and at Parkview Senior School

Lessons at Parkview Junior School are held inside the school hall, with lots of natural light from high windows and ample fresh air. The hall has more than enough space to allow kids to run around and do their workouts.

At Parkview Senior School, lessons are held inside the wooden floored school hall. There is plenty of space for running and workouts. Lots of natural light because of the floor to ceiling windows, adds an uplifting vibe. This makes a great dojo to train in.

Our Venue for Tai Chi and Karate Lessons in…

Learn tai chi in Johannesburg under the Oak TreeThe beautiful school grounds of Parktown Girls High in Parkview, with many old, large trees, is the venue for our tai chi and karate classes.

Three times a week, we enjoy the quiet of the school after the students have left for the day.

In summer we have tai chi lessons on the grass field, under the shade of the big Oak Tree, and karate in the Studio.

You can hear the birds chirping and a few cicadas singing as the sun sets and breeze rustles the leaves of the trees.

In winter or when it rains all classes are held in the Dance Studio, with glass windows all around, looking into the trees.
